Coronavirus Covid-19 Update

The health, safety and wellbeing of my patients is paramount.

The clinic will reopen on Monday 1st of June. All patients will be categorised for urgency of podiatry and medical need. Patients who had appointments cancelled during lockdown  will be contacted and offered an appointment to reschedule as soon as possible. I appreciate that it may have been some time since your last treatment and I thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. Please contact me if you develop an urgent issue before I am in touch as I do have a large number of patients to contact.

In line with College of Podiatry guidance for independent podiatrists the following criteria for podiatry treatment will be followed at Cranstoun Footcare during Covid-19 pandemic

  • The guidelines split patients into 3 categories.
  • Category 1: Acute Condition / Limb threatening ie. Emergencies/ at risk foot conditions
  • Category 2: Debilitating or life affecting conditions (including for example those with painful hard skin and corns, foot problems due to Diabetes, poor blood circulation, peripheral neuropathy, ingrown toenail and those struggling to manage foot care)
  • Category 3: Mild Conditions ie. Low foot risk (General nail care, non painful hard skin/corns, verruca)
  • Patients in category 1 and 2 may now have an appointment.
  • Category 3 are eligible for remote consultation. See website or phone for details.

  • Appointment slots will be increased from 30 minutes to 1 hour to allow for additional  decontamination measures and to allow the space to ventilate thoroughly between patients
  • Please remain in your car until your specified appointment time, the door will be opened for you when the space is ready. Please wear a face covering and avoid bringing bags etc into the clinic.
  • On entering and before leaving the clinic please use the alcohol hand gel provided.
  • During your treatment I will wear personal protective equipment as advised by the college of Podiatry
  • As an additional protective shield for your safety a Perspex screen is now in place in front of the patient chair.
  • Cranstoun Footcare has stringent decontamination systems for tools and instruments used for your treatment.
  • Contactless payments by card will be accepted to reduce physical contact.
  • The cost of an appointment at this time will increase to £35. This is due to the extra time required to carry out appropriate decontamination between patients and the hugely increased cost of PPE due to the high demand across the world.
  • You will be contacted on the day of your appointment to carry out a coronavirus symptom check.
  • Please contact me to cancel or reschedule an appointment if:
    • You or anyone in your household develops symptoms:
      • New continuous cough
      • Fever
      • Loss of smell or taste.
  • Please contact me immediately if you develop a cough, fever or loss of smell or taste in the days following your visit to the clinic.
  • Unfortunately I am unable to provide home visits at this time.
  • If you are shielding then you can still leave the house for medical care but if you would prefer to delay your visit I will fit you in when you are ready.

Hopefully we will be able to return to some sort of normality soon but more importantly when it is safe. I will keep you updated if there any other changes to this information.

Thank you for your understanding at this time and take care.
